Water channels in the woodland.

Following the recent wet weather, this week the children discovered some very muddy puddles during Forest Schools!

They enjoyed making water channels using guttering. The children used boats to flow along the water channels that they had made.

They also enjoyed a very wet and muddy tea party!

Father Christmas comes to Forest Schools

Children attending our Forest School session in a local Woodland got a surprise when Father Christmas arrived! He had lost his reindeers so the children helped to give him some directions.

Father Christmas made time for a special delivery and a chat with all of the children. The children were very excited and amazed at this magical Christmas experience.

Each child had invited a special person to attend the forest school session and many activities were enjoyed throughout the afternoon, including; making decorations, decorating a tree, cooking in the mud kitchen, toasting marshmallows and listening to the story “Santa Comes to Norfolk”. See our Forest School page for more photos.

A lovely treat for all!!

Party Celebrations.

With many birthday celebrations leading up Christmas, the party celebrations started early at Stepping Stones, with some parachute play!

The Bear and the Hare comes to Stepping Stones!

This Christmas many children were blown away by the wonderful John Lewis advert. At Stepping Stones we embraced this interest and made a small world area for the children to act out the story.

Reading The Bear and The Hare story book.

The children enjoyed watching the advert over and over again on the iPad.

Book Fair.

Stepping Stones Nursery School held a fantastic book fair leading up to Christmas.

The children enjoyed looking at the books and bringing their parents into the sale.

Many books were sold throughout the week and another book fair has now been planned for the Summer term.

Thank you to all of those that attended the book fair, we look forward to seeing you in the Summer term.

Story Telling. . .

The children of Stepping Stones invited the Willows class (Woodton Primary School)  to join them for a story telling session.

We enjoyed listening to stories told by a story teller from the Norfolk Children’s Book Centre. All children were dressed in their pyjamas and enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate!
