Our promise

What wonderful smiles to welcome you to our nursery!

It would t be Christmas, without some delicious cookery treats!

At Stepping Stones Nursery School we pride ourselves on delivering inspirational Early Years Foundation Stage (2017) Education.

Our staff are all trained to deliver outstanding learning opportunities, within a well equipped environment.

Our classroom provides stimulating activities, on a daily basis, from inspiring small world activities to fabulous sensory experiences.

The walls within our classroom are an art gallery of individual work produced by our children.

In order to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) we plan activities around a topic theme. We cover a range of themes throughout the year, from Space, to France, and dinosaurs to creepy crawly creatures! We ensure that every area of learning is covered within the theme and this is reflected in the child’s individual learning journey.

Each child has a learning journey, a scrapbook of memories including photographs, art work and ‘wow’ moments, to treasure forever!

We take great pride in our learning Journeys and are confident that you will be delighted with your child’s scrapbook of memories to share with the family for years to come.

Each Christmas we collect items for Waveney Food Bank. The children were delighted with the wonderful Christmas hampers that we created this year, (December 2017).

We make the post of the outdoors, rain, shine . . . . Or snow!

We have formed strong links with the Local community and beyond. Here is the proud winner of a competition organised by the village of Ditchingham.

Our facilities include a well resourced enclosed outdoor play area, that offers free flow play opportunities between the indoor and outdoor learning environments.

The outdoor play area provides stimulating activities to promote all areas of learning, however, the children are particularly fond of our wonderful mud kitchen!

In addition to our outdoor play area, children regularly access the field area for large physical activities such as parachute games, running races and ball games.

Inside, our classroom area offers "an inspiring learning environment for children" (Ofsted, May 2017). The classroom is vibrant and inviting, with a wide range of activities available daily, including, sensory play, mark making, role play and construction.

Don’t take our word for it, call us to arrange a visit! Telephone: 01508 482756.

Here is just one of our fabulous sensory activities, a seaside theme, with water beads, gorgeous shells, nets and a range of boats!

follow us on Instragram, @steppingstoneswoodton, to see more examples of our wonderful activities.

A beautifully soft combination of ingredients created thissuperb seaside activity. The children enjoy manipulating the “sand” to build a range of sand castles and harbours.

We are delighted with our OUTSTANDING Ofsted report (May 2017) and would love for you to read it too. Please follow the link below to read our Ofsted Report:

Stepping Stones Childrens Nursery School Ltd: Ofsted Report (May 2017).

We were in The Eastern Daily Press Newspaper and The Beccles and Bungay Journal. The article celebrates our wonderful Ofsted report.

We regularly take the children on outings to expand their learning further. Our outings are often linked to our themes. Many of our themes are planned around the children’s interests and ideas, for example we planned acastle outing when the children enjoyed learning about St George’s Day. Here are some of the children at Bungay Castle, enjoying a spectacular view of the town. Of course, the most exciting part of the afternoon was the bus journey!

Here is one of our children experimenting with mathematics whilst in the woodland. He enjoyed tipping and filling buckets on our home made scales, to weigh out “ingredients” for his mud kitchen! This was the perfect activity for exploring mathematical and scientific language.
